Mountains and Movie Sets -  Highlights of the North and South Island

Day One - Auckland

Arrive into Auckland and transfer to your choice of accommodation near shimmering Auckland Harbour. This afternoon cruise the sparkling waters of Auckland’s beautiful Waitemata Harbour.

Day Two - Auckland

Sky Tower - View the city from 220 metres high above street level.    Panoramic 360˚ views up to 80 kilometres in every direction. If you feel adventurous why not try the Sky Jump. Plummet 192 metres off the Sky Tower at 85 km an hour!

Day Three - Hobbiton Movie Set

Lord of the Rings - Experience the real Middle-earth at the Hobbiton Movie Set in the heart of the Waikato region, You can step into the lush pastures of the Shire, as seen in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.

Day Four - Rotorua Mud Pools and Hot Springs

Rotorua and Whakarewarewa Valley.  The only inhabited geothermal Māori village gifted with geothermal vents that provide a life-giving energy resource. See the boiling hot pools and bubbling mud, and learn how the residents enjoy and respect the ever-changing forces beneath the land.

Day Five  - South Island of New Zealand

North to South Island. Today fly from the North Island to the city of Nelson- gateway to the stunning Abel Tasman National Park.

Day Six  - Abel Tasman National Park

Combine walking with a scenic Aqua Taxi ride and experience the most scenic sections of the Abel Tasman Coastal Track.

Day Seven - West Coast of the South Island

A beautiful drive today to the wild west coast of New Zealand. Visit the famous Pancake Rocks and Blowhole and walk some of the deserted beaches in the Punakaiki area

Day Eight - Westcoast Wildlife Centre and Kiwis

Drive down the West Coast until you reach the village of Franz Josef. Spend the afternoon at the West Coast Wildlife Centre where you can see Rowi kiwi in the natural bush walkthrough. There is also the option to get a first-hand, behind the scenes look at the hatching and incubation program.

Day Nine - Franz Josef Glacier

Glacier Heli Hike on the Franz Josef Glacier. After an exciting flight, you land on the glacier for a guided hike among awe-inspiring glacier scenery. Make your way through a wonderland of towering pinnacles and brilliantly blue ice.

Day Ten - Lake Wanaka and Jetboating

Drive south to the gorgeous lakeside town of Wanaka. Here embark on your exciting half day Jet Boating adventure beneath the spectacular scenery of Glaciers & Lord of the Rings film locations.

Day Eleven - The Routeburn Track

The Routeburn Track is one of New Zealand’s 9 Great Walks and is the ultimate alpine adventure.  Hike alongside the picturesque Route Burn river before heading up to Bridal Veil Waterfall, swing bridge and Routeburn Flats.

Day Twelve - Milford Sound

Awe inspiring scenery awaits you as you travel deep into the Fiordland National Park. When you arrive at Milford Sound board your cruise and experience first hand the stunning tableau of the sheer cliffs that surround you, the inky blackness of the water and the frosty alpine peaks looming over it all.

Day Thirteen - Mount Cook National Park

Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park is a rugged land of ice and rock, with 19 peaks over 3,000 metres including New Zealand's highest mountain, Aoraki/Mount Cook. Enjoy a variety of walks that suit all ages and abilities.

Day Fourteen - Christchurch

Say goodbye to beautiful New Zealand as you drive from Mount Cook National Park to Christchurch for your flight home.
